How is the operation of face lift going on

Before making a face surgery the doctor will advise you to undergo medical examination and pass tests to exclude cardiovascular disease, allergies to medications. Moreover, at this stage, it is advisable to stop smoking and take pills (including contraceptives and food additives). Before the operation, it is desirable to wash your hair thoroughly.

Plastic surgery for face is done under general anesthesia, rarely under local one (if it is only for the individual face areas). The average duration of facelift surgery is 5 hours. Incisions are made in the head, covered with hair – and hair is not removed.

What happens after facial plastic surgery

The patient should be in a hospital for the first three days after the face lift. Like after most operations, after the face lift plastic surgery patient is prescribed antibiotics and painkillers. You should be prepared to have some bruises and swelling (especially on the third day after surgery). Stitches are removed in 5-7 days, then in a day or two you can use makeup and wash your hair.

But doctors advise to return to work no sooner than two to three weeks after a successful face lifting operation. It is important to remember that the result is not instantaneous – your face will look younger only in 2-2,5 months.
